Building Texas
As the 81st Session of the Legislature concludes, we offer our newest lithograph, Building Texas, which celebrates the construction of the current State Capitol.
Construction began in February 1882 and after much debate on the use of limestone, including a two-year delay, the decision to use "Sunset Red" granite moved the project toward completion. By 1887, the Capitol walls were built, and Texans could see the beginnings of the famous dome. Building Texas is available as a limited edition, signed (by artist Ray Spivey) and numbered lithograph, limited to 2000 prints. We also have boxed set note cards featuring this image of the early Capitol.
To order, you can securely use a credit card online through Paypal (right) or send a check payable to Capitol Gallery, P. O. Box 11560, Austin, TX 78711-1560.
As with all our artwork, your satisfaction is guaranteed, and we offer FREE shipping. Thank you!
